Why split PDFs in your browser?

Extracting specific pages from a PDF — a single signature page from a contract, a chapter from a textbook, an itinerary from a confirmation email — usually means uploading the whole document somewhere. With Just Tool It, the document never leaves your tab. The split happens locally and the new PDF is generated in memory.

How to split a PDF (step-by-step)

  1. Drop your PDF into the upload area, or click to browse for it.
  2. Type the pages you want. Use commas and dashes: 1-3, 5, 8-10.
  3. Click Extract & download. A new PDF with just those pages is saved to your downloads folder.

Pages always come out in the order you list them, so you can reorder pages by typing 3, 1, 2 instead of 1-3.

Frequently asked questions

How do I write a page range?
Use commas to separate items and dashes for ranges. For example, 1-3, 5, 8-10 extracts pages 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 9, and 10. Pages appear in the order you list them.
Is the original PDF modified?
No. The split produces a brand new PDF containing only the pages you selected. Your source file on disk is untouched.
Are my files uploaded?
Never. The split runs locally in this tab using a JavaScript library. No data leaves your device. You can confirm by opening your browser's developer tools and checking the Network panel — no requests are made during the split.
