Password Generator
Strong, random passwords. Generated locally using the browser's crypto API.
Why generate passwords on-device?
A password generator that runs on someone else’s server is a contradiction: the site that creates your secret can also log it. Just Tool It uses the Web Crypto API (cryptographically secure randomness) inside this tab. Pick length and character classes, generate, copy once into your password manager. Zero-server processing is not a slogan here — it is the only acceptable architecture for secrets.
How to generate a strong password
- Set length (prefer 16+ for most accounts; longer for high-value vaults).
- Enable upper, lower, digits, and symbols as your target site allows.
- Click generate — randomness comes from Web Crypto, not Math.random().
- Copy into a password manager; avoid pasting into chat or email.
Frequently asked questions
Are generated passwords stored?
No. They exist only in page memory until you copy or leave. We have no account database and no server-side
generator.
Is this as strong as 1Password / Bitwarden generators?
It uses cryptographically secure randomness in the browser, which is the same class of entropy source
modern managers rely on. Prefer storing results in a dedicated manager rather than a notes app.
Can a website still phish me?
Yes. A strong password does not stop phishing. Use unique passwords per site plus multi-factor
authentication.
Why avoid Math.random() generators?
Math.random() is not cryptographically secure. Attackers who know the algorithm and approximate seed space
can narrow possibilities. Web Crypto’s getRandomValues is the right primitive.
