Text Purifier

Paste messy text. Pick what to clean. Copy the result.

Why clean text in your browser?

Pasting from a PDF, a Word document, or an email often introduces invisible formatting: hard line breaks at the end of every visible line, double spaces, smart quotes that break code, zero-width characters used by tracking systems. Just Tool It fixes all of that with a single click. Because it runs as plain JavaScript inside this tab, anything you paste — even a draft of something confidential — stays in your browser.

How to use Text Purifier

  1. Paste your text into the input box.
  2. Pick what to clean. Defaults work for most copy-pasted prose.
  3. Click Purify. The cleaned text shows up in the Result box.
  4. Click Copy to grab it, or Download to save it as a .txt file.

Frequently asked questions

Is my text sent anywhere?
No. The cleanup is implemented as JavaScript regular expressions running in this tab. Your text never leaves the browser. You can verify by checking your browser's developer tools — no network requests are made.
What does "Re-join broken lines into paragraphs" do?
Text copied from PDFs or emails often has a hard line break at the end of every visible line, which breaks paragraph flow when you paste it elsewhere. This option joins those broken lines into single paragraphs, while preserving real paragraph breaks (blank lines).
What are "smart quotes"?
Curly typographic quotation marks (“these”) used by Word and similar editors. Useful in prose but they break code, JSON, and terminal commands. The cleanup converts them to straight ASCII quotes ("these").
